Steel shot is a spherical grain formed of molten steel via an atomization (granulation) process that comes in a variety of sizes and hardnesses. Steel grit describes grains as having a primarily angular shape. Because these grains are made by crushing steel shots, they have sharp edges and fragmented parts. It is harder than steel shot and comes in a variety of diameters and hardnesses.

Steel Shot

Steel shots, due to their extreme hardness and magnetic characteristics, are ideal for abrasive waterjet rock cutting and recycling. The rock-cutting performance and recycling features of steel shot waterjet were investigated in this study. The rock-cutting responses of steel shots and abrasive garnet were compared at the identical waterjet settings. Before reusing the used steel shot, the particle-size changes were examined, and the cutting performance was re-evaluated. Generally, the steel shot waterjet provided gains in performance in the region of 30-50% compared with the garnet waterjet. Also, the recycled steel shot reduced cutting performance by 50%. Rust was seen on the surface of the used steel shot, the used steel shots were partially destroyed, and the debris on the abrasive surface required to be cleaned by drying. The reusable steel shot left on the 80th sieve converged to 60% in each recycling operation. The findings of this study have the potential to lower the cost of abrasive waterjet and industrial waste.

Steel Shot Blast Media

Steel shot blast media is a type of abrasive media that is used in the process of shot blasting. Shot blasting is a surface preparation technique in which small metallic shots are propelled at high speeds onto a surface to clean, roughen, or shape it. The shot is typically made of steel, and it comes in various sizes and shapes.

Steel shot blasting is commonly used in industries such as automotive, construction, and manufacturing to remove rust, scale, and other surface contaminants from metal surfaces. It can also be used to prepare surfaces for painting, coating, or bonding.

The steel shots size and shape of the steel shot can be customized to achieve different levels of surface roughness and cleanliness. The shot is propelled at high speeds using compressed air or centrifugal force in a shot blasting machine.

One of the advantages of using steel shot as a blast media is that it is durable and can be reused many times before needing to be replaced. steel shot blast media is also highly effective at removing surface contaminants and creating a rough surface texture. However, it can be more expensive than other blast media such as sand or glass beads.

Steel shots abrasive comes in a variety of sizes and hardness levels, allowing it to be used for different applications. Smaller shot sizes are used for lighter cleaning and polishing, while larger shot sizes are used for heavier-duty applications, such as removing thick coatings or rust.

The hardness of the steel shots abrasive is also an important consideration. The harder shot is more durable and can be used for multiple blasting cycles, while the softer shot is more easily deformed and can be used for one or two cycles before needing to be replaced.

Overall, steel shots abrasive is a highly effective and efficient blasting media for a wide range of surface preparation applications in various industries, including automotive, construction, and manufacturing.

Steel Shot price depends on the sizes and hardness of steel shot in India. Steel shot price also depends on the quality and quantity of steel shot. Our abrasive steel shot price is very low corresponded to others.

Steel Shots Uses

Cleaning: In cleaning applications, steel shot and grit are used to remove loose particles from metal surfaces. This method of cleaning is widely used in the automotive industry (motor blocks, cylinder heads, etc.).

Surface Preparation: Surface preparation is a set of processes that includes cleaning and physical surface modification. Steel shot in India is used in the surface preparation process to clean metal surfaces that are covered with mill scale, grime, corrosion, or paint coatings, as well as to physically change the metal surface, such as generating roughness for better paint and coating application. Steel shots are commonly used in shot blasting equipment.

Stone Cutting: Steel Shot in India is used in the cutting of hard stones such as granite. The grit is utilized in big multi-blade frames that split granite blocks into thin slices.

Shot Peening: Shot peening is the repetitive hitting of a metal surface with hard shot particles. These numerous hits distort the metal surface while also increasing the metal part's durability. This application uses spherical rather than angular abrasive media. The reason for this is that spherical shots are more resistant to breakage caused by the striking impact.

High carbon steel shot is a type of abrasive media used in shot blasting and peening processes. It is made from high-quality steel with a carbon content of 0.8% to 1.2%, which gives it a high hardness and wear resistance.

Low carbon steel shot is an abrasive media used in shot blasting and peening processes. It is made from low carbon steel with a carbon content of less than 0.15%, which gives it a lower hardness and wear resistance compared to high carbon steel shot.
